Inspect the fuel tank for rust, small leaks,
cracks, and other damage.
To locate leaks, fill the tank with water with
all but one outlet closed or plugged. Apply
3 to 5 psi of air pressure to the tank. Turn
leak uppermost and repair by welding. Test
again for leaks.
Be sure tank is completely filled with
water to prevent fumes from gathering
and causing an explosion.
Remove the fuel cap slowly until the air
pressure is relieved.
Drain the water from the tank.
