Position the belt around the alternator pulley.
Adjust the alternator until the proper belt tension
is obtained and tighten the attaching hardware. (Refer
Open the engine compartment door.

Tag and disconnect the electrical leads from the
terminals on the alternator.
Connect the electrical leads to the terminals as
tagged during removal.
remove the belt or belts from the alternator pulley.
Remove the attaching hardware from the belt
tension adjusting bracket.
Unhook the cover and hinge it downward
Remove the nut, washers, and bolt attaching the
alternator to the mounting bracket and remove the
Tag and disconnect all leads from the batteries'
terminals starting with the negative terminals.
from the angle brackets hold down rods and remove
the angle hold down brackets.
and secure with the bolt, washers, and nut. Do not
tighten at this time.
Remove each battery and the plywood spacer
they sit on.
Install the hardware attaching the alternator to
the belt tension adjusting bracket.
