OVERVIEW
This chapter contains information necessary to maintain the 10,000 and 25,000 lb. slings and the 5,000 and
10,000 lb. cargo nets on the unit and Intermediate direct support (DS) maintenance levels in accordance with
the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) (Appendix B). It includes the following:
a.
Procedures for processing a new or used slings and cargo nets upon receipt.
b.
Assembly of components.
c.
Preventive maintenance procedures to ensure continued serviceability of all components.
d.
As required inspections and maintenance procedures performed prior to use such as cleaning and
painting.
e.
Repair methods and repair or replacement procedures for all components of the slings and cargo nets.
