RANGE DIAGRAM.
The range diagram is a graphical presentation of the relationship between hook elevation, operating radius and boom
angle. The operating radius is defined as the horizontal distance from a projection of the axis of rotation to the supporting
surface before loading to the center of the vertical hoist line or tackle with load applied. The operating radius must be
determined manually (i.e. use a tape measure). The boom angle is defined as the included angle between horizontal and
the axis of the boom base section after lifting rated load. This angle is shown in degrees on the Krueger control panel. The
boom length is the actual length of the boom including the jib, if erected. This measurement must also be made manually
(i.e. use a tape measure).
