Operating Radius: The horizontal distance
from the axis of rotation before loading to the
center of the vertical hoist line or tackle with
load applied.
Freely Suspended Load: Load hanging free
with no direct external force applied except
by the hoist rope.
Side load: Horizontal force applied to the
lifted load either on the ground or in the air.
Working Arc: Areas measured in a circular
arc around the centerline of rotation as shown
on the working area diagram.
