CAUTION
Level
converter at full throttle
stall speed for an ex-
tended period of time will
overheat

torque
converter.
NOTE
Do not attempt to check
transmission oil level
when oil is cold.
In cold weather, it may
be necessary to stall the
to reach the required oil
temperature as follows:
a. With diesel engine
running, level the
crane by raising the
outriggers.
b. Apply parking brake.
c. Place
transmission
shift lever to forward
(F) and high range.
d. Accelerate engine to
between 1500 and
1800 rpm.
e. Hold converter stalled
until transmission oil
temperature
is
between 180 and
200 F.
With the diesel engine
running, check for correct
transmission oil level on
dipstick. Maintain
between "add" and "full"
marks on dipstick. Add
transmission oil through
fill pipe if necessary.
