Cylinder Head Cracks - Reuse Guide-

These guidelines apply only to cracks extending
through the valve seats.
The reuse guidelines for a cylinder head with a crack
extending from the injector bore to the valve seat is as
follows:
If the crack does not extend into the valve seat, the
head is reusable.
If the crack extends into or through the valve seat, the
head must be repaired by installing a valve seat insert
per the Alternative Repair Manual, Bulletin No.
3810234.
Valve Spring Inspection (2-09)
Inspect the Valve Springs.
Measure the valve spring.
Limits
Approx. Free Length (L): 55.63 mm [2.190 in.]
Maximum Inclination: 1.0 mm [0.039 in.]
