NOTE
Limited use of low viscosity oils, such at
10W-30 may be used for easier starting and
providing sufficient oil flow at ambient
temperatures below -5C [23F]. However,
continuous use of low viscosity oils can
decrease engine life due to wear. Refer to
the accompanying chart.
New Engine Break-In Oils
Do not use special "break-in" lubricating oils for new or rebuilt Cummins engines. Use the same type of oil
during the "break-in" as that which is used in normal operation.

Refer to the following flowchart for the recommended oil change interval based on engine application.
