To insure thatserviceability standards of stored air delivery equipmentare maintained, every effort will be exerted to adhere tothe following storage requirements:(1) When available, a heated building shouldbe used to store airdrop items.(2) Air delivery equipment will be stored in adry, well-ventilated location and protectedfrom pilferage, dampness, fire, dirt, insects,rodents, and direct sunlight.(3) delivery equipment will not be stored in amanner which would prevent ventilation orinterfere with light fixtures, heating vents,fire-fighting devices, cooling units, exits, orfire door.(4) Airdrop items will not be stored in adamaged, dirty, or damp condition.(5) All stored airdrop items will be marked,segregated, and located for accessibilityand easy identification.(6) Air delivery equipment will not be stored indirect contact with any building floor or wall.Storage will be accomplished using bins,shelves, pallets, racks, or dunnage toprovide airspace between the storage areafloor and the equipment. If preconstructedshelving or similar storage accommodationsare not available, locally fabricate storageprovisions using suitable lumber of woodenboxes.3-37
