Section VII. CRANE ENGINE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
117. General
When the engine clutch assembly is engaged,
power is transferred from the engine to the power
takeoff shaft which drives the operating mechanisms.
The clutch is controlled, through adjustable linkage,
from the operator's cab. If the engine clutch slips or will
not pull the load or if the operating lever will not stay
engaged, the clutch requires adjusting.
118. Clutch Lever and Linkage
a.
Removal. Remove the clutch lever and linkage
as instructed on figure 49.
b.
Cleaning, Inspection, and Repair.
(1)
Clean all parts with an approved cleaning
solvent.
(2)
Inspect all parts for bends, breaks, cracks,
and other damage. Straighten, weld, or
replace all defective parts.
c.
Installation. Install the clutch lever and linkage
as illustrated on figure 49.
d.
Adjustment. Adjust clutch linkage (TM 5-3810-
207-10).
