Excess oil from the rocker arms lubricates the exhaust
valves and cam followers. Additional cam follower
lubrication is provided by oil from grooves in the
camshaft bushing bores which is directed against the
cam follower rollers.
Remove Rocker Arms and Rocker Arm Shaft
1. Clean and remove the valve rocker cover.
2. Remove the fuel pipes from the injector and the
fuel connectors.
CAUTION: Immediately after removing
the fuel pipes, cover each injector
opening with a shipping cap to prevent
dirt or other foreign matter from entering

3. Bar the engine over in the direction of engine rotation
or crank the engine with the starting motor to bring the
push rod ends -- the outer ends -- of the injector and
valve rocker arms in line horizontally.
