Install a new gasket in the recess of the shell.

Place the shell and element in position under the cover. Then, with a new gasket over the cover bolt, thread the
bolt (or nut) into the stud.
9. With the shell and gasket properly positioned, tighten the cover bolt or nut just enough to prevent leakage.
10. Remove the filter plug in the cover and complete filling of the shell with fuel. Primer J5956 may be used to prime
the entire Fuel System.
11. Start the engine and check the Fuel System for leaks.
