4. Withdraw the hub and bearing assem-
bly from the shaft. It may be necessary
t o the tap the end of the shaft with a soft
h a m m e r to loosen the hub assembly.

A. Remove the ball bearing by tapping
alternately around the outer edge of
the bearing with a small brass rod
a n d hammer.
B. Drive the oil seal from the hub. Dis-
c a r d the oil seal.
C. Remove the inner (rear) roller in the
s a m e manner as outlined in Step A.
Inspection
Clean the fan and related parts with fuel
dirt may be washed in and the cleaning
fluid could not be entirely removed from
the bearing. Examine the bearings for
any indication of corrosion or pitting.
