SYMPTOM
OUTRIGGER RETRACTS UNDER LOAD
MALFUNCTION
To Determine Malfunction Perform the Following: With Hydraulic Oil at Working Temperature, Start Engine
and Set Vehicle on Outriggers. Shut Engine Off. Turn Dipstick Cap 1/4 Turn to Safety Notch to Relieve
Pressure. Disconnect Both Hoses from Either Front or Rear Outrigger Cylinders at Tee Located by Outrigger
Solenoid Valve. Cap Tee. Some Hydraulic Oil Will Run Out, but Will Stop. Turn Ignition Switch ON to
Energize Outrigger Solenoid Valve Switches. Pull Outrigger Control Lever To Raise Position and Hold.
Actuate Outrigger Switch Corresponding to Outrigger Cylinder Being Checked.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
WARNING
Never disconnect hydraulic lines or fittings before venting pressure. Turn dipstick
cap 1/4 turn to safety notch to relieve pressure. Failure to follow this warning may
cause death or injury to personnel.
1.
If outrigger cylinder retracts and no hydraulic oil comes out of hose, outrigger hold valve must be
replaced/ repaired (WP 0138).
2.
If outrigger cylinder retracts and hydraulic oil comes out of hose, outrigger cylinder is bypassing
and should be replaced/repaired (WP 0151).
