Pressure Test the Aftercooler Core
Install the hose, hose clamps, and solid pipe plug (1)
onto the inlet tube.
Install the hose and hose clamps (2), and air pressure
gauge (3) onto the outlet tube.
Connect the air pressure gauge to a regulated air
supply.
Air Pressure: 552 kPa [50 psi]
Submerge the aftercooler in a tank of water.
If air bubbles appear, the core is damaged and the af-
tercooler must be replaced.
Remove the aftercooler from the water tank.
Remove the test equipment.
Use compressed air and dry the aftercooler.
Aftercooler Assembly - Rebuild (10-03)
CAUTION
The aftercooler is a unitized assembly and
cannot be rebuilt. Any attempt to repair the
aftercooler core will reduce the coolant flow
and cause future engine damage.

WARNING
When using a steam cleaner, wear protective
clothing and safety glasses or a face shield.
Hot steam will cause serious personal injury.
Use solvent or steam to clean the air transfer pipe. Dry
with compressed air.
