A quarterly interval is equivalent to threecalendar months, or 250 hours of operation, whicheveroccurs first.b.The preventive maintenance procedures to beperformed at quarterly intervals are listed consecutively(starting with number 1) and are described in paragraph20. Quarterly Organizational Maintenance ProceduresItemBefore starting engineParagraph1Pintle hook, outriggers, outrigger floats, wheels and tires, roller path and hook rollers,144,145spare wheel, steering valve, steering arm, tie rods, steering cylinder, and steeringknuckles. Inspect these items for wear, cracks, damage, missing parts, leaks, andadjustment. Normal tire pressure is 80 psi. Correct clearance between hook rollersand roller path is 0.036 inch.2Carrier fuel tank, fuel lines, headlights, taillights, marker lights, boom cradle, carrierengine air cleaner, front axle assembly, differentials, drive shafts, universal joints,carrier frame. Inspect the items for leaks, cracks, wear, damage, and missing parts.3Carrier radiator, hose, fan, fan guard, shroud, fan belts, generator belt, hydraulic steeringTM 5-3810-207-10pump belt, air compressor belts, water pump, thermostat housing. Inspect these itemsfor breaks, wear, damage, missing parts, and adjustment. Carrier fan, generator,compressor, and steering pump belt deflections are 3/4 to 1 inch midway betweenpulleys.Note.The three fan drive belts must be replaced as a set.4Check carrier fire extinguisher, engine oil level, fuel tank level, transmission, transfercase and differential lubricating oil levels. Winterization equipment-radiator shutter,space heater, heater control panel, cab heater thermostat, heater fuel pump, coolantpump, coolant heater safety relief valve, coolant heater, coolant lines, space andcoolant heater igniters, coils, relays, battery box thermostat control. Inspect and checkwinterization equipment for breaks, wear, missing parts, leaks, and operation.5Carrier cab assembly-cab door, windshield, windows, back glass, seat and frame, toolboxand tools, floorboards and mats, windshield wiper, blade, and arm. Inspect theseitems for breaks, wear, leaks, missing parts, and cleanliness.6Crane cab, doors, glass, cab panels, gantry, frame, toolbox and tools, operator's seat andframe, control levers, pedals, guards, machinery side frames. Inspect these items forbreaks, wear, leaks, missing parts and cleanliness.7Crane engine, radiator, hose, lines, fittings, thermostat housing, water pump, fan, fan belts, TM 5-3810-207-10fan guard and shroud, generator belt. Inspect these items for leaks, breaks, wear,missing parts, and adjustment. Fan and generator belt deflection is 1/4 to 1/2 inchdeflection between pulleys.8Boom hoist brake, hoist brake, swing brake, crowd brake, boom hoist clutch, hoist clutch,swing clutches, crowd and retract clutches, master clutch. Inspect these items forwear, breaks, damage, and adjustment.9Check engine oil level, boom hoist power-down lubricating oil level, power transfergearcase lubricating oil level, hydraulic control cylinders oil level. Inspect the items forbreaks, leaks, and damage.10Hoist shaft, crowd shaft, horizontal swing shaft, vertical swing shaft, jack-shaft, bevelpinions, drive chains, jaw clutches, linkage and pins. Inspect these items for wear,breaks, damage, and adjustment.18
