(3) Inspect the inlet valves and seats. If inlet
valves are grooved deeper than 0.003 inch
where they contact the seat, they are
defective.
(4) Inspect the cylinder bores. If they are
scored or out of-round more than 0.002
inch, or tapered more than 0.003 inch, the
cylinder block is defective.
Clearance between pistons and cylinder
bores should be between 0.002 and 0.004
inch.
(5) Inspect the fit of the piston ring gap and the
fit in the piston grooves. The gap clearance
is 0.007 to 0.019 inch and the groove
clearance is 0.0016 to 0.0030 inch.
