Section IX. REPAIR OF PINTLE HOOK ASSEMBLY
19-31. General
19-32. Removal and Disassembly
The pintle hook is mounted on the rear of the carier
a. Refer to figure 19-13 and remove cotter pin (13) and
frame to be used for towing purposes.

carrier frame.
b. Refer to figure 19-13 and disassemble the

(2) Remove cotter pin (2), nut (3), and bolt (4)
assembly as follows:

(1) Assemble lock (12) by placing spring (10) in latch (11) and

securing with pivot pin (9). Install cotter pin (8) in lock (12).

19-33. Cleaning, Inspection and Repair
(4) Install tube fittings (1) in pivot pin (9) and bolt (4).
a. Clean all metal parts with cleaning solvent
(Fed. Spec. P-D-680 or equivalent) and dry
thoroughly.
