TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
NOTE
If transmission performance is inadequate, install pressure gage(s) on the transmission
control valve and check pressures, also check for the following symptoms.
SYMPTOM
ERRATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE
MALFUNCTION
Transmission Oil Level Low.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Add transmission oil to proper level. Consult lube chart (TM 5-3810-305-10).
SYMPTOM
EXCESSIVE TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE AT HIGH SPEED (RPM)
MALFUNCTION
Main Regulator Valve Sticking.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Check main regulator for contamination and clean orifice.
MALFUNCTION
Main Regulator Valve Spring Faulty.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace main regulator valve spring.
