Water from the radiator is forced by the waterpump through the engine water jackets and back intothe radiator for cooling. Until the engine reachesoperating temperature, all or part of the water leavingthe engine jackets is bypassed by means of thermostats,directly to the water pump for recirculation. Draincocksare located on the bottom of the water pump and at thelower-right, rear side of the engine block.197
