Section IV. CARRIER ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
253. General
The carrier engine has a pressure cooling
system. Water from the radiator is forced by the water
pump through the engine water jackets and back into
the radiator for cooling. Until the engine reaches
operating temperature, all or part of the water leaving
the engine jackets is bypassed by means of thermostats,
directly to the water pump for recirculation. Draincocks
are located on the bottom of the water pump and at the
lower-right, rear side of the engine block.
