AIR LINES REPLACEMENT, SUPERSTRUCTURE AND CARRIER
TOOLS: General mechanic’s tool kit: automotive (5180-00-177-7033)
SUPPLIES:
Loctite #545 (Item 13, Appendix C)
EQUIPMENT CONDITIONS: Disconnect ground cable at shunt. (Refer to page 8-109.)
REMOVAL:
NOTE
Use
the
following
procedure
to
replace all air lines.
1.
REMOVE AIR LINE.
a.
Tag and disconnect both ends of air line.
Remove line and note routing for ease in
installation.
b.
Remove fittings as necessary.
c.
Inspect all parts for damage and replace as
required.
INSTALLATION:
1.
INSTALL AIR LINE.
a.
Coat threads with Loctite 545 prior to installation.
b.
Install fittings and tighten securely.
c.
Route air line and connect both ends. Tighten
securely.
2.
CONNECT GROUND CABLE AT SHUNT. (REFER
TO PAGE 8-109.)
3.
START ENGINE AND CHECK ALL AIR SYSTEM
FUNCTIONS. CHECK FOR LEAKS. (REFER TO
TM 5-3810-306-10.)
