PINTLE HOOK ASSEMBLY

SUPPLIES:
otter pin (Item 49, Appendix C)
Clean rags (Item 1, Appendix C)
EQUIPMENT CONDITIONS: Pintle hook removed. (Refer to page 14-2)
DISASSEMBLY:
1.
DISASSEMBLE PINTLE HOOK (1).
a.
Remove upper cotter pin (7), hex nut (6) and
latch bolt (11) securing arm (12) to pintle hook
(1). Discard cotter pin (7).
b.
Remove arm (12) from pintle hook (1).
c.
Remove pin (8), latch (4) and spring (5).
d.
Remove drive screw (10) and chain (9) if
required.
CLEANING:
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 is toxic
and flammable. Wear protective
goggles and gloves and use only in a
well ventilated area. Avoid contact
with skin, eyes, and clothes and
don’t breathe vapors. Do not use
near open flame or excessive heat.
Flash point is 1000F138°F (38°C-
590C). If you become dizzy while
using cleaning solvent, get fresh air
immediately and get medical aid. If
contact with eyes is made, wash your
