The specification for Piston Protrusion is 0.024 to 0.028 inch for emission controlled engines built after 1-1-94.
Piston and Connecting Rod Assemblies -
Installation
Install the bearing shells into both the rod and the
cap. Make sure the tang on the bearing shells is in
the slot of the cap and rod.
Lubricate the rod bearings with a light film of
Lubriplate 105.
