Check the primary circuit byplacing the test points on the two primaryterminals. If the lamp does not light, theprimary circuit is open. Check thesecondary circuit by placing one test pointin the high tension terminal and thesecond test point on one of the primaryterminals. The lamp will not light, butsparks will be noted as the test points, arerubbed over the terminals if the secondarywinding is not open. If no sparks occurthe secondary is open.(2)Test spark gap with a testing instrumentas follows: Attach the leads from thetesting instrument to the two primaryterminals.
