a. Warm transmission oil to operating temperature

b. Using a strap wrench, remove transmission oil
filter.
c. Place a suitable container under transmission.
Transmission holds 12 qt (11.36 L).
d. Remove drain plug located on the bottom of
transmission and drain.
NOTE
New or rebuilt transmission will require 20.5
qt (19.40 L) of transmission oil.
e. Install drain plug and fill transmission with 12 qt
(11.36 L) of transmission oil (TM 5-3810-305-10).
f. Coat transmission oil filter seal with clean
transmission oil and install hand-tight. Warm
transmission oil and check for leaks and proper level.
