TM 5-3810-306-10SWINGING THE BOOMWARNINGBefore initiating any swing operations,make certain the area in the swing pathof the hook and/or load, as well as thetail swing area, is clear of all objects andpersonnel.WARNINGWhen swinging the load from over-the-front to over-the-side, check the loadchart to make certain the applicablecapacity is not exceeded. Traveling withany load over-the-side is unsafe.WARNINGAlways sound the horn to alert personnelin the area before swinging the boom.WARNINGIf the ELEVATE BOOM messageappears on the LED alert display duringswing, stop swing immediately andelevate the boom to clear the enginehood.CAUTIONEnsure the swing lock is disengagedand the swing brake control is in thedisengaged position before attemptingthe swing.CAUTIONNever push or pull the swing controllever through neutral to the oppositedirection to stop swing motion.NOTEAutomatic rear axle oscillation lockoutwill activate when the boom swingsmore than five (5) degrees right or left ofthe crane centerline.1.To swing boom, push the SWING control leverforward, away from you for RIGHT (clockwise)swing; and pull back, toward you for LEFT(counterclockwise) swing.
