Remove opposite end of parachute cable and lock pin from the web cone assembly and pull through hole in
parachute compartment.
c. Discard unserviceable cable and replace with a serviceable item from stock.
d.
Merge terminating shackles of the parachute release cable with the spread damp of the initiator cable and
secure to the eye of the firing head on the M5 cartridge-actuated release assembly with bolt, washer, and nut.
e.
Thread opposite end of parachute cable lock pin through the hole in the parachute compartment and connect
to the web cone assembly.
f.
Check connections to be sure that the initiator cable assembly stop washer is located adjacent to the firing
head of the M5 cartridge-actuated release assembly and that both the parachute release and the initiator cable
assemblies have at least 1/4-inch (0.635 cm) slack.
