GeneralThe six intake and six exhaust valves are locatedin the cylinder heads and are actuated by the camshaftthrough the tappets, push rods, and rocker arms.Adjusting screws in the rocker arms provide the means ofadjusting the valve clearance. The stem of each valveslides within a guide pressed into the cylinder heads. Theintake valves control the admission of the fuel-air mixtureto the cylinders, while the exhaust valves permit theexplusion of gases from the cylinders.265.
