Carrier Engine Clutch Assembly Removal
and Disassembly
a. Removal.
(1) Disconnect the propeller shaft (TM 5-
3810-207-20).
(2) Remove the clutch housing (par. 259).
(3) Remove the carrier engine clutch
assembly as instructed on figure 70.
b. Disassembly. Disassemble the carrier engine
clutch assembly in numerical sequence as illustrated on
264.
Carrier Engine Clutch Assembly Cleaning,
Inspection, and Repair
a. Cleaning. Clean the disk assembly with a dry
cloth. Clean remaining parts with an approved cleaning
solvent and dry thoroughly.
b. Inspection and Repair. Inspect all parts for
excessive wear or damage. Replace or repair all
defective or damaged parts. The proper clearance
between the pressure plate driving lugs and slots of the
flywheel ring is from 0.44 to 0.006 inches.
