84. General
The basic 24-volt engine electrical system is
composed of two batteries, alternator, alternator regulator,
starter, and wiring to all components of the system. Refer
to figure 3 wiring diagram.
85. Alternator
a. Removal.
Remove alternator, assembly as
instructed in figure 42.
b. Cleaning, Inspection and Repair.
(1) Clean the exterior with a cloth dampened in
an approved cleaning solvent and dry
thoroughly.
(2) Inspect for cracks, breaks or other damage.
(3) Replace a defective or damaged alternator.
c. Installation.
(1) Install alternator assembly as instructed in
