CAUTION
The following procedure involves the
side thrust pads in checking boom
width. Avoid over-adjusting the
thrust pads to a point where too
much binding exists between the
pads
and
the
telescope
section.
Boom damage can occur.
1.
CHECK AND ADJUST SIDE THRUST PADS.
a.
Extend and lower outriggers. (Refer to TM 5-
3810-306-10)
b.
Position fully retracted boom over front of crane
and elevate boom slightly to permit complete
extension of telescoping section while allowing a
maintenance technician to access boom from a
maintenance platform.
c.
Back out two rear side thrust pad adjusting
screws on right side of crane as shown.
