Avoid over-adjusting thethrust pads to a point where toomuch binding exists between thepads and the telescope section.Boom damage can occur.1.CHECK AND ADJUST SIDE THRUST PADS.a.Extend and lower outriggers. (Refer to TM 5-3810-306-10)b.Position fully retracted boom over front of craneand elevate boom slightly to permit completeextension of telescoping section while allowing amaintenance technician to access boom from amaintenance platform.c.Back out two rear side thrust pad adjustingscrews on right side of crane as shown.17-9
