REMOVAL
NOTE
There are two separate procedures for removing front seal. One is with front cover
removed and one is with front cover installed.
Step 1 is for removing front seal with front cover removed.
1.
Remove front seal (Figure 1, Item 1) from front cover (Figure 1, Item 2) with front cover removed.
Refer to Front Gear Cover and Gasket Maintenance (WP 0032).
NOTE
Steps 2 and 3 are for removal of front seal with front cover installed.
2.
Remove crankshaft pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Maintenance (WP 0028).
3.
Drill two holes 180 degrees apart to relieve tension on front seal (Figure 1, Item 1).
4.
Remove and discard front seal (Figure 1, Item 1) from front cover (Figure 1, Item 2).
